A Comedy of Errors!!:-)

I am writing a day late about the string of events that happened Yesterday . It was lazy and dull monday(as any other monday I would say) and I had least interest to get out of bed and start to work.
So I displayed heights of "Inertia" and reached work quite late. Adding to the misery, there was loads of work awaiting me and I cursed myself for not having fallen sick or finding a reason to bunk work.
Reaching my desk, I was hearing repeated announcements from the receptionist of my office that some CEO of some company is going to visit our center at some time and that he would be addressing all in the auditorium. I was wondering who had the time in the world to make time out of the busy schedules to go and listen to him. But fate had something funny in store for me.....
All of a suddenly, around 12:30 in the afternoon, the HR head of my center called me to his desk and gave a startling news that I would have to preare a welcome note for that some CEO of some company and I would have to meet our center head and few others in this regard.

That brought me right back to senses and thought how in the world was I targeted for this task but then there was no other go. I felt quite good and elated atleast for a while for having been chosen for this task. I dint know lot of fun was yet to unfold. I quickly gathered some facts about him from net and prepared a rough draft within half hour and I was all set for the speech.
When I reached the audi, I was surprised to see it in full capacity and knew there are quite a lot of people out there who are interested to listen to him :-)))) or rather.....;))))
Obviously the CEOs are supposed to reach late and so did he with his team....But meanwhile this delay screwed me as I was thumped with the mike to say few words, and out of confusion I goofed it up a bit and could see lot of smiles all around the audi:-) that was goof up No 1

They reached and I was all set with my words well rehearsed and delivered it well ( as per me) but only to know later that the mike was not fully functional :-):-):-) The only consolation was that my voice naturally being loud, it was atleast audible but that was fully eligible for a goof up No 2 ...wat say???:-)
Then the event was so very unplanned by the event team that the mikes dint work when guests wnated to speak, USB dint get connected to play a movie, lights went off when they were not supposed to and never went off when they were supposed to. The whole audi went in giggles looking at the wonderful co-ordination :-)
Keeping all this apart, even our guests were no less. They wanted to play a movie and theirs too never worked and it added more and more fun. After all this hungama, somehow the scheduled event ended with our guest delivering his set of words (which too was disappointing as the event was).

The event was closing and towards the end, I just had a thankyou line for all which I thought I would might as well skip it seeing people standing up. But guess the comedy of errors was not yet done. When people stood and were about to leave, the event team waved at me to say those words and I had to forcibly pick the mike yet again to thank all. This created a lil confusion and people stood where they were expecting me to say something but only to listen a "Thank you" note for me.
I couldnt resist the laughter myself at that point of time and thought I too would enjoy all these comedy of errors myself. So with a biiiiiiiiiggggie smile on fac, I thanked all :-)))
At the end of the day, Dont know if I can really laugh or cry at the disastrous turnout but surely I do bet people had lot of light moments to take back including me .
